Second Sighting 1997
Two months before the first rains of El Niño Phenomenon there was a major sighting with more than 9 witnesses in Chirije.
One evening, when one of the local service team members was brushing his teeth, walking out the door, he was surprised by a huge red light that emanated from about 30 meters (yards aprox) away. He states that every 3 seconds this big ball of red light would shine on the whole sight then back down to a small light about 1 to 2 meters round. It was hovering waist high he says. This sequence kept on going (he stood still for a few seconds) but then screamed for his wife and sister in law that was visiting at the time. They flew across the sight and went to get the night guard who had dozed off (due to the tide being high, usually at low tide if there was any danger of anyone stealing something from the onsite museum, he would have been awake). As soon as the night guard wakes up on the hammock out in the briefing area of the ecolodge overlooking the ocean, they rapidly tell him the event that was taking place. He says that he doesnt believe them and they were lighting up the forest with a bonfire. But he changed his mind when he became wide awake due to the expansion of the light every 3 seconds. They started to get close to the light and when they were about 200 feet away, the night guard pumped his shotgun, to arm himself and the very next second the light was gone. One of the 4 witnesses says that he saw the red light up high like a kilometer in the sky a couple of seconds later.
Chirije. Same night, new sighting, but other witnesses just 100 yards away on the beach.
Shrimp farming in Ecuador is pretty huge. More than 150,000 ha. of land are used for aquaculture. At this time, shrimp hatcheries were just getting into place for the massive demand for stocking the ponds, but there was still wild shrimp larvae fishing from the beach. That same night out on the beach, a group of larvae fishermen state the following:
We were suddenly surprised by a Red dish that came up to us and made us fall flat on our faces in the sand. Then we saw it just hover next to us, dancing in the air. As it was going up and down, we saw a mirror in the middle of the plate and inside the mirror we saw a "Cristiano" or Christian. This is to state that they saw a human like figure inside this "mirror".
This account was told immediately to the night guard and bosses at the Chirije Ecolodge and archaeological site and then the account was proved accurate as the owner finally found these fishermen and interviewed them.
After this sighting Jaime Rodriguez, Ecuador's top UFO investigator, came to the sight and found evidence back in the Bahia city area that a reknowned family had seened that night a red american football shape light in the sky.
One year later the United States bulids the Forward Operating Location (FOL)Air Base in Manta, just 65 kilometers south of Chirije. The FOL was built for the large AWAC radar planes (to control the skies against drug smuggling flying out of Colombia).
Next sighting after this october 1997 sighting was made in October 2007, exactly 10 years later.
